Menlo Park, New Jersey
Now and Then
A look at the location of Thomas Edison's laboratory
This series of pages looks at Menlo Park in the year 2000. Compare the area today with the old images from Edison's time. Maps and photos illustrate the changes that have taken place in the time since Edison invented a whole new world.
Today, the laboratory site is part of a state park. A memorial tower stands where the laboratory used to be, along with a small museum building and a memorial tablet.

The tower property runs along Christie Street, between Tower Road and Middlesex Avenue. The museum faces on Christie Street, on the corner of Middlesex (although Middlesex Avenue is shown on maps as a through street, the road on that block doesn't exist - a stand of trees is in its place).
