Edison moved his laboratory to Orange, NJ after his first wife died in the mid 1880's. The Menlo Park site was used for a variety of things by local residents, but the buildings began to deteriorate. Here's how it looked in 1911:



Henry Ford salvaged parts of the Menlo Park complex during the 1920's. He re-created the Menlo Park scene in Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan.
