The BEX
Billy, Ernie, Kevin and Sandy - the BEKS- formed a local group heavily influenced by the Beatles. They were very popular in the late sixties playing at local school dances and at the CYO. The group went through some personnel changes - Sandy left, Chris joined, and the name changed from BEKS to BEX; later Ernie left, Bob joined. The BEX frequently won Battle of the Bands competitions, at Metuchen High School and in the Franklin School yard. They also performed at the Main Street block parties (remember the Block Parties?).
