I'll Follow the Sun

This is a great song, one that I've played for more than 30 years. Jan listened to my version for about 15 seconds and told me that I sang one of the notes higher than it was supposed to be. I sing the song in the key of F (The Beatles did it in what sounds like F#, although many people think it's in G - maybe my tape is too old). Anyway, in the key of F, the notes of the melody corresponding to 'One day, you'll look' are C-F-Eb-G (the way I sing it). Go back to the tape, and it sounds more like C-F-D-G (transposed to be in the same key). Perplexing. Have I been playing it (and singing it) incorrectly all of these years? Shades of 'I'm so tired', where I was singing it wrong and never knew. Oh, the uncertainty. It's amazing that Jan picked it out right away, since she hasn't heard the song in many years.
I'm leaving it my way. If that's supposed to be a D, I don't know what to do with the accompanying Eb7 chord.
Voices: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Strings.
