This guy also did Secret Agent Man (odds are he won't live to see tomorrow!). I kept the same tempo, but added a more dramatic drum beat. I replaced the Doo-do-do-wah, shoobee-doobee stuff with a trumpet, and continued to use the trumpet (instead of a guitar) for the two measures between each verse. It came out OK.
