This song was written by Del Shannon (of 'Runaway' fame) and recorded by Peter and Gordon. Peter is Peter Asher, brother of Jane Asher, one time Paul McCartney's girlfriend. Peter and Gordon had a hit with 'World without love', written by Lennon and McCartney. Peter later went on to manage James Taylor, who (I guess) he met while Taylor was recording his Apple album.
I recorded the basic song, intending to go back and add the intro and try to figure out the harmonies. I liked the way it sounded, so I quit while I thought I was ahead.
