I always liked this song. It was written by Jimmy Webb, who wrote quite a few number one hit songs (some I like, some I hate). I bought Webb's book on song-writing, which is very interesting and informative, some time ago - I haven't tried to apply that information just yet, but maybe someday.
Instead of playing the song the way I remember it, I decided to change the style and see how it sounds. The drum beat makes it seem more lively and upbeat. Some people might think that this ruins the song (although some people think that I ruin any song by trying to record it at all). I think this is all just for fun, so...
The recording went quickly; there is not a lot to it.
