David R. Gaskill of Metuchen, 75, research chemist at Mobil

Mr. Gaskill was an analytical research chemist for 30 years at Mobil Chemical in Edison. A 1951 graduate of Union College, Schenectady, NY, he earned his Ph.D. from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute 10 years later... A Eucharistic minister and reader at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Mr. Gaskill also served as treasurer, senior warden, and vestry member. He was treasurer of the Metuchen-Edison Historical Society and the Senior Citizens Housing Board in Metuchen. Born in Plainfield, Mr. Gaskill lived in Westfield before moving to Metuchen in 1961. Surviving are Delphine, his wife of 48 years, a daughter, Laurlyn Smith, a sister, Barbara Carter, and a grandchild.
