Grimstead Room hours

The Metuchen-Edison Historical Society’s archive of photos, maps, and other documents is located in the Grimstead Room at the Metuchen Public Library 480 Middlesex Ave. in Metuchen. You must contact the Metuchen-Edison Historical Society for access to items in the collection.
Archives open hours
The room will be open to the general public from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on the first Saturday of January, February, March, April, May, September, October, November, and December (no open hours during June, July, or August). All days and times are subject to the Metuchen Public Library hours.
If you are doing extensive research and would like to have access to the collections, a Society official must be present to find what you are looking for. We request a fee of
$50 per research appointment, with $25 per hour after the first two hours.
By advance arrangement and for good cause shown, the board, in its discretion, may waive this fee for students.
Photocopying:
Researchers are responsible for all in-library photocopying charges they incur. Delicate materials may require professional duplication under the direction of the society and a service fee to be set by the board shall be imposed above the actual cost of duplication. Users shall be required to sign an agreement prior to the duplication being performed.
